Each ayahuasca retreat at the Temple of the Way of Light features a balance of female and male healers from the indigenous Shipibo tribe. This incredible team of healers is highly experienced in practicing the ancient art of ayahuasca shamanism. Their ayahuasca ceremonies are supported by highly trained and knowledgeable Western facilitators, who act as a critical cultural bridge between the healers and our guests.
Through meticulous planning and experience with thousands of guests, the Temple has developed a range of ayahuasca retreat programs in our beautiful jungle environment, about two hours by boat and trek from the Peruvian city of Iquitos.

9-Day Alignment Intensive Ayahuasca Retreats
This very special retreat combines ayahuasca ceremonies and the sophisticated healing work of our Shipibo Maestras and Maestros with a kind of ontological inquiry (meaning inquiry into the nature of your being) that will have you identify your calling or mission for your life, and give you tools for ayahuasca integration and to design your life so that it is aligned with that calling. For this work, we will have Richard Condon, a ‘Maestro’ of ontological inquiry with almost 40 years of experience, Dr. Tanya Kammonnen (formerly Maté), our Integration Director, leading daytime group conversations, and a team of 3 female and 2 male Shipibo healers, supported by 3 resident Temple facilitators.

13-Day Yoga Intensive Ayahuasca Retreat
The aim of the practice of yoga is the movement from a state of separation towards that of our inherent connectedness, or from dualism towards non-dualism. Similarly, ayahuasca also potentializes our capacity to dissolve boundaries of separation and access the states of deep connection and unified ‘beingness’ that are the very aims of yoga. The Yoga Intensive Ayahuasca Retreat is designed for yoga enthusiasts who are interested in the combination of a comprehensive yoga program and traditional Amazonian plant-based healing practices. This retreat will combine five intimate ayahuasca ceremonies for groups limited to 12 people only with a comprehensive yoga program during the daytime.

Traditional Plant Dietas
Plant Dietas at Niwe Rao Xobo
Since 2009, the Temple has been blessed with the presence and expertise of one of the most recognized and powerful lineages of Shipibo healers from Pucallpa. For generations, the family of Ynez Sanchez, with her son, Jose, and daughters, Laura and Lila, has been carrying and practicing the medicine and wisdom of their ancestors. Acknowledging the immense value that they bring to our extended family through their expertise, integrity, commitment, love, and passion for plant medicine, the Temple is excited and honored to support them as they design, develop, and promote their own programs at their center in San Francisco, Peru, near Pucallpa, on the Ucayali river.
**Prior experience with ayahuasca is strictly required.**
